The Beauty of … A Personal Retreat

If you’re like most of us, you spend much of your time caring for others. Driving the kids to and from school, cooking, cleaning, the list is endless.

Many times, I feel overwhelmed, and a quiet retreat may be just the ticket for feeling rejuvenated.

You might think that you can’t possibly abandon your daily responsibilities. However, an overnight stay at your local hotel, AirBnB, or a cottage at the beach—somewhere you’re sure to get a good night’s sleep—isn’t an overly long time to be away.

The benefits of allowing yourself the time for new experiences and fresh starts cannot be overrated, because self-care is important for our well-being and overall health.

So, as we begin the summer season, carve out time for yourself. Don’t let the basics of every life get in the way.

The Beauty of … Art

This month, I’m focusing on art because my newest inspirational release, A Summer To Cherish, features an artist, David Fodero, who is losing his eyesight. He is the hero of the story. Ashley Madden is the spunky heroine who teaches art to children with disabilities.

I am a musician and applaud the arts. In my research for A Summer To Cherish, my newest sweet inspirational romance, I discovered many similarities between art and music.

Consider the following:

The arts encourage you to be more observant.

Studies prove that the arts improve problem-solving skills.

The arts inspire your imagination and opens the spirit to exciting possibilities.

It has also been shown that the arts help reduce stress-whether you’re a painter or a pianist. They develop your self-esteem, providing a sense of achievement.

So, I encourage you to take up a new instrument, paint a picture, build a shed. I guarantee your well-being and contentment in everyday life will improve greatly.

New contemporary inspirational release! A Summer To Cherish.

Faith is fragile. Faith takes time. And the best solutions are always painted with love.

David Fodero followed his artistic vision to a wildly successful career. Now, day by day, that vision is cruelly shrinking, altering his perception, skewing his perspective…and all but destroying his faith.

Alone in a mountain cabin near Cherish, North Carolina, David wrestles with his inner critic as he struggles to put brush to canvas. Until he meets a luminous woman who dispels his crippling fear with her warmth and laughter.

Ashley Madden is a born fixer. So she’s sure she can be forgiven for going above and beyond to find out what happened to the artist whose gallery sales support her work with handicapped kids—the artist who disappeared from public life with no warning or explanation.

Ashley’s optimism is a balm to David’s hurting soul. Yet as their attraction warms, Ashley senses David is holding something back—and that saving her own dream is intimately tied to restoring his faith.

But will the truths they finally confess to each other wind up as stumbling blocks too large to overcome?

The beauty of … A New Year

I posted this last year, and it was so popular, I am reposting. Happy New Year!

“I’m walking into 2022 with a clear heart and mind. If you owe me, don’t worry about it-you’re welcome. If you wronged me, it’s all good- lesson learned. If you’re angry with me, you’ve won. If we aren’t speaking, it’s cool (I love you and I wish you well.) If you feel I wronged you, I apologize. Life is too short for all the anger, grudges, and extra pain, and we as people are not perfect. God bless us all! Here’s to 2022!”

The Beauty of … A Crisp Fall Day by @JosieRiviera

When Labor Day is over, isn’t it like flipping a switch? we go from summer beach days and picnics to cooler weather and football games.

One of my favorite activities is the Fall Festival Season and Craft Fairs. Every weekend, I discover different activities to enjoy.

For children, there are Pumpkin Patches and hayrides, and one of my granddaughter’s favorite activities is bobbing for apples.

There are also entertaining family options.

Holiday Craft Fairs offer handmade gifts and holiday ornaments. In North Carolina, where I live, there are several apple festivals providing local music. Not to mention those delicious food stands offering apple strudel and homemade baked good.

Wishing you an Autumn brimming with family fun and laughter.

Candleglow and Mistletoe, my sweet contemporary romance, is on the last day of a 99¢ Kindle Countdown. Grab your copy now before price goes up! (U.S. Residents only.)

Their unexpected attraction kindles something as warm and sweet as a holiday candle. But the weight of their pasts could turn the promise of their love to ashes.
