I’m so excited to share with everyone THE PLAYERS: Overcoming the Odds boxset. There are some fantastic books in this collection and I hope you’ll give it a shot. It’s only .99 and FREE on Kindle Unlimited!

My contribution to the set is: TAKING A RISK. It’s about a football player who was forced into early retirement when he suffered knee injury. But for Nolan Greer, a change from being on the field, to a coach became a no brainer when he found out he was the father of a little girl with a birth defect that required a few surgeries and left her with a limp. He chose to keep her from the public eye for many reasons.

When Nolan walks into a bar during spring training to blow off a little steam and maybe catch a glimpse of the cute social media coordinator, Jessica Roads, he never expected for her to great her with a knee buckling kiss. He doesn’t quite know what to think when he finds out she did so on a dare and in order to prove to her ex that she’d moved on.

As the season heats up, so does their romance, but when his family is put in the spotlight, Nolan backs down. The last thing he needs is the media camped out in his front yard waiting to get a glimpse of his crippled little girl, but that is exactly what happens.

Taking a Risk is about not only taking a risk with your career, but with your heart, and on love. It’s about creating a family, on and off the field.

Available in The Players Boxset.

Brand New Novella in The Collective Order series!

I never thought I’d ever write a book with any kind of paranormal element, even though I enjoy watching movies and reading books such as True Blood. My latest release, THE LOST SOUL dives into remote viewing, telepathy, visions, and other psychic abilities.

This is one of the few series I’ve written where it’s a good idea to read them in order and because of that I’m offering the first book for free. This offers ends tonight at midnight EST.  I’m also offering the second book for .99 through the 7th of this month.

I got the idea for this series when I was talking to a friend of mine about my days at Camp Chingachgook and a group called: the Order. This was a special group of campers and staff members who have a strong bond with the traditions of Chingachgook. While I was talking some of the traditions and the stories we used to tell around the camp fire. I knew the series would include psychic abilities, but I wanted to create a legacy of some kind.

So, I came up with a prophecy about four quadruplet boys, separated at birth, who will meet and fall in love with four special sisters and they will form The Collective Order, the most powerful group of psychics. The goal of this group will be to protect psychics and make sure that these skills are used only for good. Now, yes, that is a far cry from my days at camp, but that is where the concept started.

And what was really fun is in the first book, THE LOST SISTER, I use the setting of Camp Chingachgook for part of the story. That was so much fun to write. I can close my eyes and be back at camp, seeing and remembering every detail! Setting is so important to me. I almost always write about places I’ve been or lived.

I hope you’ll give this series a try!

When the completely unexpected happens while writing…

I’ve always considered myself a plotter. There are certain things I HAVE to know before I can start writing. Usually, my process starts with an idea. Sometimes it’s a plot driven idea, other times it’s a character driven idea. This sets me up with the inciting incident and story question. I then jump to the climatic scene. Without that, I have no idea where the story is going. It’s like getting in the car and driving to the store without having any idea of where the store is and refusing to look at a map.

My next release, THE LOST SOUL, is the third book in my Raven Sister’s series. Each novella has it’s own storyline, however, one is dependent on the other. There is an arch that spans all four books and each one ends in a cliffhanger. This is a different kind of writing for me, since most of my series are all stand alones. When I finished writing THE LOST SOLDIER, wrapping up one piece of the puzzle, I left myself in an interesting situation. I had written myself into a corner, or so I thought.

Not to give too much away, The Raven Sister’s series is a paranormal/fantasy about 4 sisters destine to unite with quadruplet brothers separated at birth to form THE COLLECTIVE ORDER, a group of psychics who were once hunted as witches and burned at the stake in the past. In the present, each sister finds their soul-mate, their psychic abilities increase, as do the brothers. I ended the 2nd book with the hero of the 3rd book basically in a coma and the heroine needed to find him in the space between this reality and the past.

Wow. It still gives me a headache, lol. I knew what the climatic scene was, but all of a sudden, I had no idea how to get these two out of the past and into the present. And healthy. It took three false starts and a lot of phone calls to a couple of writer friends to come up with a solution. The funny part, was that the inciting incident was always right there in front of me. I had planted the seed in the first 2 books. All I really needed to do was step back and take a look at it from a different angle, and that’s when the surprising stuff happened.

This story took a very unexpected turn, but OMG, I had a blast writing it! Check out this link to an excerpt. Please follow me on Book+Main Bites Romance. I will be posting excerpts there of all my books! Also, please follow me on Amazon as well as Bookbub, so you never miss a new release or a special deal!
