The Beauty of … Autumn

Although I love every season, Autumn has always been a favorite. It is a time of rebirth and renewal. For many, Autumn is the time for a fresh outlook, and romance is always in the air.

This month, I’m sharing some inspirational Autumn quotes.

“It was a beautiful, bright autumn day, with air like cider and a sky so blue you could drown in it.” -Diana Gabaldon, Outlander

“I loved Autumn, the one season of the year that God seemed to have put there just for the beauty of it.” – Lee Maynard

“Autumn leaves don’t fall, they fly. They take their time and wander on this their only chance to soar.” – Delia Owens, Where the Crawdads Sing

“If a year was tucked inside of a clock, then autumn would be the magic hour.” – Victoria Erickson

“Autumn mornings: sunshine and crisp air, birds and calmness, year’s end and day’s beginnings.” – Terri Guillemets

Take this season to enjoy family and friends. Read a good book, go apple picking, find your favorite pumpkin patch, and take pleasure in this magical season.

The Beauty of … Art

This month, I’m focusing on art because my newest inspirational release, A Summer To Cherish, features an artist, David Fodero, who is losing his eyesight. He is the hero of the story. Ashley Madden is the spunky heroine who teaches art to children with disabilities.

I am a musician and applaud the arts. In my research for A Summer To Cherish, my newest sweet inspirational romance, I discovered many similarities between art and music.

Consider the following:

The arts encourage you to be more observant.

Studies prove that the arts improve problem-solving skills.

The arts inspire your imagination and opens the spirit to exciting possibilities.

It has also been shown that the arts help reduce stress-whether you’re a painter or a pianist. They develop your self-esteem, providing a sense of achievement.

So, I encourage you to take up a new instrument, paint a picture, build a shed. I guarantee your well-being and contentment in everyday life will improve greatly.

New contemporary inspirational release! A Summer To Cherish.

Faith is fragile. Faith takes time. And the best solutions are always painted with love.

David Fodero followed his artistic vision to a wildly successful career. Now, day by day, that vision is cruelly shrinking, altering his perception, skewing his perspective…and all but destroying his faith.

Alone in a mountain cabin near Cherish, North Carolina, David wrestles with his inner critic as he struggles to put brush to canvas. Until he meets a luminous woman who dispels his crippling fear with her warmth and laughter.

Ashley Madden is a born fixer. So she’s sure she can be forgiven for going above and beyond to find out what happened to the artist whose gallery sales support her work with handicapped kids—the artist who disappeared from public life with no warning or explanation.

Ashley’s optimism is a balm to David’s hurting soul. Yet as their attraction warms, Ashley senses David is holding something back—and that saving her own dream is intimately tied to restoring his faith.

But will the truths they finally confess to each other wind up as stumbling blocks too large to overcome?

The Beauty of Fall Celebrations….

The Fall season is upon us, and school is back in session. (Hurray!)

I always think of this season as a time for fresh beginnings. It’s also the time for regional events, which are always unique and interesting. Here are a few in the U.S. you might want to explore.

  • The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, Croton-on-Hudson, New York – The celebration of the Jack O’Lantern is a full swing party here! There are more than 7,000 pumpkins carved by the artisans at the Van Cortland Manor displayed on the grounds of the stately home. This goes on through November.
  • Sever’s Corn Maze and Fall Festival, Shakopee, Minnesota – this annual event runs through Halloween. There are music events, pumpkin sculptures, art installations, and the not to be missed, corn maze. The largest in the state!
  • Autumn at the Arboretum, Dallas, Tx – This event has a Pumpkin Village and gardens full of fall decorations. You can also visit A tasteful Place which is their food, herb, and vegetable garden. Plus, live bands. This exciting event runs through November 1st.
  • The North Carolina Pecan Harvest Festival, Whiteville, North Carolina – Here we have everything from musical entertainment to craft vendors, a fun run, in the town known as the top producer of pecans in the state. The festival runs the weekend of November 5-6.

Wherever you live, you can find wonderful activities to celebrate fall my favorite season.

The Beauty of … Honeybees by @JosieRiviera

Have you ever thought about honeybees and what they do? It’s so much more than simply making honey, although creating delicious nectar is special.

Bees play a major role in everything from our food to cotton supplies. A full 70% of the world’s agriculture depends on bees to transfer pollen and help fertilize the plants. If bees were to become extinct, the impact would be felt on everything from the food supply, cotton production, to the global economy.

What can we do to protect bees and save the world?

  • Buy local honey. It supports the beekeepers and helps them to have more hives, with more bees to pollinate the crops.
  • Plant bee-friendly plants such as morning glories, sunflowers, clover, lavender, and phlox.
  • Have a bee bath. A simple dish with water and a place for the bees to sit as they drink the water.
  • Avoid pesticides in your garden.

Be kind to these beautiful little creatures and they will be kind to us.

It’s a 99¢ Kindle Countdown deal (U.S. residents only), for my Regency Inspirational romance, Seeking Fortune.

There are lies more believable than the truth.

Available in ebook, Paperback, Large Print Paperback, audiobook, and Hardcover.
