Recently my husband and I talked about doing some updates to our kitchen, but we had a crack in our ceiling that we had previously repaired and it kept coming back. We decided that before we dug into the kitchen we would have someone look at the crack.
Boy did that open up a can of worms. We had an engineer come out to our house and we quickly learned that the reason we had that crack, was because our house was shifting. The foundation of our home was sinking in parts and not in others. He pointed out a bunch of cracks in our foundation, and after a little more inspection, we learned that behind the drywall of my completely finished basement, I had mold.

This is why over the last two years, I have had one health issue after the other. After doing research on Mold Sickness I learned that I had been suffering from this for at least two years. That is when my digestive issues really started, and no one could figure out why I was having them.
Now, our basement has been gutted (over 460 Square feet of drywall plus all the flooring removed), and some very expensive repairs are in the works to stabilize our home and the wall that was beginning to bow behind the drywall. I swear when it rains it pours. We have had mold remediation companies, foundation repair companies, electricians, heating duct cleaners, and more out to our house over the last several weeks.

The major work starts in July, but for now, we have dealt with the mold issue, and that is the most dangerous part of all of it. Mold is no joke!! It causes a hosts of issues, and I for one am glad that we at least have that dealt with for now.
In between all the contracts, I’ve been busy working on several stories! One of them released on the 11th! If you like steamy romance, make sure to check out the new Loving a Winston Series.
