Has the Holiday Season officially started?

Yes, according to the stores that have already set Christmas trees and decorations.

And yes, according to my granddaughter who announced that school is off for the whole next week.

The Holiday Season is a fun time with family gathering and dinner together. It can be stressful when we try to accomplish too much in such a short time.

According to a friend who is a PhD in psychology and also a pastor, if you feel stressed, look for the signs in your life that are drawing your attention to areas where you need to re-balance yourself.

Most people are in a hurry and spend their time running from one place to another. When we are in a hurry, we become insensitive towards the people around us; we don’t care how people feel; we don’t think about the impact of our actions on others.

Time is like money to be spent. Love cannot develop without the investment of Time.

Before we become too stressed, we need to slow down. Work less and Do more; take time to Rest and Reflect. Allow ourselves to relax.

Today someone asked me, “What are the things you like best? The things you like doing with passion? What would you do for hours without complaining?”

Can you answer any of these questions spontaneously–the first thing that crosses your mind, without deeply thinking about it?

My answers came right away:

1-Writing a story: I can sit at my computer for hours–my record was 12 hours–writing non-stop, ignoring the world around me

2-Taking care of my grandchildren, playing with them, chatting with them, cooking or baking for them. That was true until two years ago. Now they are teenagers and drive themselves around, and certainly don’t need babysitting.

3-Swimming in the pool.  A few years ago I would have added, walking on the beach. Unfortunately, my knee hurts now if I walk on the sand.

4- Reading. If I start reading a book I like, I have to finish the story in one sitting.

Senator Dutton is ready to issue a warning. They should reform, at least during his campaign season, or else…
