Have you seen any of the Because She’s Your Mom video shorts that are running on TicToc or Facebook Reels? Jordan Toma does a great job of inspiring kids to appreciate their mothers. He spells out in very specific terms why moms should be valued. His messages are just the thing moms need to see on Mother’s Day. Here’s a sample:

As moms, we work hard to nurture our children and help them grow into independent adults. We want our kids to grow wings. To fly from the nest and make happy lives for themselves. But the silence that’s left behind when they’re gone can be so difficult to deal with, can’t it?
There’s another video about waiting for a call-back from adult children, and it made me laugh right out loud.

I was once reminded, “You know these holidays were created by greeting card companies just to sell their product, right?” (I raised very logical, practical kids.) Well, maybe so. But taking a day to make mom feel good about her role as mother isn’t a bad idea. We’re not asking for much—a phone call, an “I love you, Mom,” a hug. All of those things are free.
