Authors’ Billboard Blog July 6th
2022 has been so crazy that even though it’s the midyear point, it feels like twelve months. Books to write, books to edit, books to proof. A wedding, covid (yuck), and June was all about catching up with a slower pace of checking things off.
Now it’s July and I am so blessed to be in San Diego with my daughter and granddaughter to watch Kennedi while Des is at work. I trimmed my workload, a plus, I have an understanding husband, super great, and the fact that Kennedi will be five next month means that she is so much fun to interact with. She is also content to play with her tablet and toys. Really independent.
Time goes by so fast that I want to take advantage of every moment. Before long she’ll be driving!
We were going to surprise my grandmother with a trip to Spokane for a five generation picture since the last time Kennedi and Gigi saw one another was when K was two. Gigi is 93 and my mom wanted to give her a surprise. Delta did not have it’s act together and Friday the flight was canceled because of a broken wing—understandable. Saturday at five am we found out the rescheduled flight would be rescheduled again, and they weren’t sure it would even take off as they were looking for pilots. PILOTS. I was so mad and disappointed and trying to keep my cool with a dog, a toddler, and my daughter, who was handling things like a trooper. Even she was like, let’s skip it. So, we will try again in November. Hopefully Delta will have enough people on the books. SHEESH.
A slower summer pace allows for reading, and my tastes run the gamut from Brene Brown, Atlas of the Heart, to Lucy Foley, The Guest List. I am writing the third Misty Beach Christmas for an Unforgettable set. You cannot go wrong with these boxed sets full of wonderful romances to while away the day. Patrice Wilton also has a new release, so be sure to check out A Change of Heart!
Have a wonderful summer!
