Baked Orange Pecan French Toast by @PatriceWilton

The following recipe is from HOOKED ON YOU, Paradise Cove Series by me, Patrice Wilton. If you love French Toast, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this luscious breakfast recipe for Baked Orange Pecan French Toast.


 “Well, first you pour a mixture of brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup into the baking dish, then sprinkle pecans over it all. After that I used thick slices of French bread, baked yesterday, and laid it on top. The topping has to be made first and put over the bread to absorb. I did that part early this morning. Eggs, cinnamon, vanilla, orange juice, and zest from the orange. Comes out a nice golden brown and then you can eat it plain or topped with anything you want.”

Orange Pecan French Toast



  • 4 eggs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 8 bread slices, 1/2-inch-thick
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans


  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup orange juice

Beat together eggs, juice, milk, sugar, vanilla, and nutmeg. Arrange bread in a single layer, top with egg mixture. Refrigerate 2 hrs. Melt butter in 10″ x 15″ x 2″ pan, and arrange bread on top. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with pecans, and bake 10 minutes more. Syrup: Combine and cook over low heat. Do not boil. Cook for 10 minutes, and serve warm.
