January was named for the Roman God Janus, who was depicted as a God with two faces. One faced into the future and one looked to the past, essentially closing the door on one year and opening another to the next, Janus ushers in January, and I welcome the month for fresh starts and new beginnings.

For many, we also make resolutions. These can be anything we chose, though frequently resolutions revolve around becoming healthier, saving money, increasing our self-care, or learning a new skill.
Oftentimes, we don’t stick to these resolutions, primarily because of how we approach them. We become excited and expect immediate results, rushing toward the finish line. It might serve us better if we take it slower with smaller steps. Think of your journey more as you being the tortoise rather than the hare.
Experts suggest that we are more likely to succeed if we know our “why,” making a plan of how to reach our goals, and patiently taking action to achieve the outcomes we look for.
Wishing you success on your resolutions, (mine is going on a diet to lose the Covid weight), and to a bright, happy, and healthy 2021.
