I am so ready for some Christmas cheer! This year has been crazy but there have been good things too. Most of us have been forced to slow down a little and take a good look at our lives. Introspection for me leads to gratitude. Despite the hard times, and even though I can’t see my family as often as I’d like, I have seen each member.
The ocean for me is a balm to the spirit. When I was thinking of something terrible to happen to one of my characters (as we writers tend to do lol) I thought about fear. Anxiety. I transferred my fear of driving on the freeway to the ocean. Not seeing someone close to you. Not letting them know that you love them. Mixed it all together, voila, and came up with Christmas Kiss by the Sea—because I also love a romance with a happy ending. <3
So, Tessa McFarley has a fear of the ocean after nearly drowning. She and her grandmother used to be very tight and the ocean was their special place. Now Grandma is gone and Tessa wishes for another chance. While she can’t get her grandmother back, she hopes to heal her fears and love the ocean again. The bonus is rediscovering her feelings for Landon Schmidt and pray he can forgive her for leaving him without explanation years ago.
